Tokkuri is a traditional Japanese carafe for sake, featuring a narrow neck and pear-shaped bottom.
They are generally made for 1 (180ml) or 2 gos (360ml) of sake. Tokkuri have different names depending on their shape. 4U by UNOFUKU created a rakkyo tokkuri that is in a shape of rakkyo, Japanese green onion bulbs. Izushi-ware tokkuri is thin and thus ideal for warm sake because it conducts heat easily, allowing the drinker to feel and judge the temperature of the sake before pouring. Additionally, the pure whiteness of Izushi tokkuri showcases the clarity and subtle coloration of sake.
