Haku Meiga—a series where master foil artisans recreate famous ukiyo-e with Kanazawa Haku, letting the artwork glow against a luminous foil background.
The print is “Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre” (Soma no Furu Dairi), famous for its enormous skeletal apparition. The scene draws from a ghost story: after Taira no Masakado is defeated, his daughter Princess Takiyasha uses sorcery to gather allies, and supernatural creatures begin to appear.
Use it as a bold serving or accessory tray—a conversation starter for art lovers.
Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797 – 1861) was a wildly popular ukiyo-e artist of the late Edo period, famous for warrior prints, bold composition, and a playful sense of humor.
