Kyoto Kanbe Juzu

Striped Wood Juzu Bracelet — Black, Red & Green 10mmUnisex / 17 cm / 10mm beads / 19 beads

$75
Style:

A collaboration between the century-old Kanbe Juzu atelier and Nakamura Tsukiita of Fukuoka, holders of a Japanese patent for through-dyed veneer (senshoku tsukiita).

Solid birch is dyed to the core, sliced whisper-thin, laminated in layers, and only then turned into beads — so the geometry of black, red, and green stripes emerges from inside the wood itself. No two beads repeat; no brush could draw these lines.

Light on the wrist, boldly modern, and quietly Zen. Hand-strung in Kyoto on quadruple silicone cord; paulownia gift box.

Material: Main beads: Striped wood (dyed birch laminate, patented craft) · Cord: Polyurethane elastic

Size: Inner ø 17 cm (6.7")

Origin: Kyoto, Japan. Hand-finished by master Kyoto juzu artisans.

Each piece is handmade — natural variations in grain, color, and bead size are part of the craft.
