Kutani ware is a Japanese porcelain tradition from Ishikawa Prefecture, celebrated for vivid overglaze enamel painting and rich color.
This style is named after Kutani Shoza (1816–1883), a master who combined every Kutani technique from Ko-Kutani onward. It is known for delicate, opulent painting, nature motifs of flowers and birds, and a blend of Japanese and Western design.
The interior is lined with pure gold leaf, finished to bring out its full shine. Use it for sake or tea, or as a small dessert bowl for ice cream and sweets. The cups stack neatly, so it’s easy to collect several patterns.
